Presentation / pitch of final package with evaluation and feedback

My textual analysis was on a TV show that goes by the name “Power”. Overall, it did not really help me with my chosen theme as the theme of the TV show is drama and the theme of my short film was thriller. However, the textual analysis did help me with my camera angles as the episode that I was watching was filled with emotions which equals to a lot of camera shots and angles for example an establishing shot or a shot reverse shot. From writing the analysis it made me realise what camera angles are and it helped me work out which ones I am going to use. For example, I can use an establishing shot to set the theme or an over shoulder to show someone doing their work. The pre-production was helpful as it made the process of filming the short movie more planned out and organised. It was successful as we took pictures in the rooms that we are going to film so we wouldn’t be confused about the setting. Also from the start we wrote out a story line and gave rolls to all of the people

Pre Production

The Corridor Begins with Title of short film, shows the time being 00:00am on the clock. Camera switches to person finishing off school work (recorded by tripod from a distance/establishing shot). Phone vibrates and person pulls out phone, on the notification screen a text message by the following is said “Tick tock goes the clock, And all the years they fly, Tick tock and all too soon, You and I must die”. This is going to be recorded by hand whilst zoomed in. Victim drops phone in shock and begins to pack his stuff, camera follows victim to the door and the camera cuts to a close up of the back of the persons shoes, camera zooms out simultaneously as when the lights begin to flicker on and off and soon the lights go off (edited sound). A midshot should be done of the persons reaction in shock, fear and confusion and runs to the nearest exit. Person pulls on the door and the door is locked, headshot now happens and the audience finally are about to see what the person saw (musi

Textual Analysis

Textual analysis of Power Power is a show that is known for its violent antics and the episode that I am going to be analysing has no exception. From what it seems to be a happily married couple, James and Tasha live an entirely different lifestyle from the usual person’s point of view. James, from what it looks to be is an entrepreneur of very well-known and popular clubs across the city also has the dark side of a murderous gang member and a high end drug dealer going by the name Ghost. Additionally, Tasha, a loyal wife that seems to be taking care of the family like a normal mother would do which could also mean that she is capable of doing anything, and I mean anything to protect her husband and her children. Knowing these facts, you could imagine that the show Power will be very problematic which also means that the way it is going to be filmed is very specific.  I am going to be talking about episode 10 season 4. This episode shows us how the 2 parents are going to be cop
