Non Linear Narratives

Chronology- Events that are organised in order.
·
Concurrent / parallel narratives- done at the same time
·
Flashback / Flash-forward- Flashback: when a
scene is taken back to an earlier time
·
Flash-forward: a scene that is take forward in
time.
·
Time and space- the location that the narrative is taking place at.
·
Serial format- In literature, a serial is a printed format by which a single larger work, often a work of narrative fiction, is published in sequential installments.
·
Cliff-hangers- a dramatic end that makes the audience
wonder what will happen next.
·
Editing and non-linear narratives: continuity v discontinuity- intervals. gaps, not continued.
Narration
·
Use of a narrator as a piece to camera, voice
over, caption- title or a brief explanation in text.
·
Subjective / objective- almost biased, pick things out
Mode of address / tone- how the storyline is delivered
